- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- United States: includes a department, bureau, or other agency of the United States of America. See Texas Government Code 311.005
An electric cooperative may generate, acquire, and accumulate electric energy and transmit, distribute, sell, furnish, and dispose of that electric energy to any of the following that is engaged in the generation, transmission, or distribution of electricity:
(1) a corporation, association, or firm;
(2) the United States;
(3) this state or a political subdivision of this state; or
(4) a municipal power agency or political subdivision of this state that is a co-owner with the electric cooperative of an electric generation facility.
