(a) The board by rule shall develop and implement a process by which a person may apply to be appointed to the advisory committee and shall post the application and information regarding the application process on the board’s Internet website.
(b) The presiding officer of the board shall review each application received and nominate for appointment to the advisory committee persons who meet the requirements of § 258.202. A person nominated under this subsection may not be appointed to the advisory committee except on the affirmative vote of at least seven members of the board.

(c) The presiding officer of the board shall designate one of the nominated members as presiding officer of the advisory committee, subject to approval of the board.
