(a) A license holder who extends or lends credit shall maintain in this state a record of the credit transaction in accordance with accepted accounting and auditing practices. The record must be sufficient to enable any competent person to determine if the license holder is in compliance with the requirements of this subchapter.
(b) The record must be preserved until the later of the fourth anniversary of the date the credit transaction occurred or the second anniversary of the date the final entry relating to the transaction is made.
