Terms Used In Tennessee Code 8-9-106

  • Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.

In any legal proceeding, when it appears from the papers that the sheriff is a party, or, from affidavit filed, that the sheriff is interested, the process may be directed to the coroner.
