Terms Used In Tennessee Code 31-6-119
- Decedent: A deceased person.
- Person: includes a corporation, firm, company or association. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
- Property: includes both real and personal property or any interest therein and means anything that may be the subject of ownership. See Tennessee Code 31-1-101
Any person claiming to be entitled to the property of any decedent may file a claim thereto with the treasurer in accordance with title 66, chapter 29, part 1, governing the disposition of unclaimed property.
