Terms Used In Tennessee Code 65-30-109
- carrier: includes any person, firm, corporation, company, association or partnership owning, operating or managing a business of providing radio services to the public on a for-hire basis and under such circumstances as would require a license by the federal communications commission as a miscellaneous common carrier in the domestic public land mobile radio service. See Tennessee Code 65-30-103
- Commission: means the Tennessee public utility commission. See Tennessee Code 65-30-103
- Property: includes both personal and real property. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
No radio common carrier shall abandon all or any part of its system or other property necessary or useful in the performance of its duties to the public, or discontinue or temporarily suspend all or any part of the service which it is rendering to the public by the use of same, without first obtaining the approval of the commission. In granting such approval, the commission may impose such terms, conditions or requirements as in its judgment are necessary to protect the public interest.
