A foreign limited partnership may register with the secretary of state under any name, whether or not it is the name under which it is registered in its state of organization, that includes the words "limited partnership" or the initials "L.P." or "LP", in uppercase or lowercase letters, and that could be registered by a domestic limited partnership.
Terms Used In Arizona Laws 29-351
- domestic limited partnership: means a partnership formed by two or more persons under the laws of this state and having one or more general partners and one or more limited partners. See Arizona Laws 29-301
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- State: means a state, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. See Arizona Laws 29-301
