A physician licensed under chapter 13 or 17 of this title who reads or interprets mammographic images shall meet the following requirements:

1. Have completed forty hours of medical education credits in mammography.

2. Be certified by either the American board of radiology in diagnostic radiology or the American osteopathic board of radiology in diagnostic radiology, as applicable, or meet the requirements of the mammography quality standards act regulations for quality standards of interpreting physicians, 21 C.F.R. § 900.12.
