An applicant shall be licensed as a locksmith if the applicant meets all of the following qualifications:

(1) Is of good moral and ethical character, as evidenced in part by a criminal history record check conducted in accordance with N.C. Gen. Stat. § 74F-18

Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 74F-7

  • following: when used by way of reference to any section of a statute, shall be construed to mean the section next preceding or next following that in which such reference is made; unless when some other section is expressly designated in such reference. See North Carolina General Statutes 12-3

(2) Is at least 18 years of age.

(3) Successfully completes an examination administered by the Board that measures the knowledge and skill of the applicant in locksmith services and the laws applicable to licensed locksmiths.

(4) Pays the required fee under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 74F-9 (2001-369, s. 1; 2003-350, s. 5.)
