Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 43-17.3

  • Answer: The formal written statement by a defendant responding to a civil complaint and setting forth the grounds for defense.
  • Pleadings: Written statements of the parties in a civil case of their positions. In the federal courts, the principal pleadings are the complaint and the answer.
  • property: shall include all property, both real and personal. See North Carolina General Statutes 12-3

Any person asserting a claim or any interest in such registered land may, at any time prior to the hearing provided for in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 43-17.4, file such answer or other pleadings as may be proper, asserting his rights or claims to the property referred to in the petition. (1943, c. 466, s. 1.)
