Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 58-29-15
- following: when used by way of reference to any section of a statute, shall be construed to mean the section next preceding or next following that in which such reference is made; unless when some other section is expressly designated in such reference. See North Carolina General Statutes 12-3
- Residents: shall mean and include person, partnership or corporation, domestic, alien or foreign. See North Carolina General Statutes 58-29-5
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. See North Carolina General Statutes 12-3
- Unfair Trade Practice Act: shall mean Article 63 of this Chapter. See North Carolina General Statutes 58-29-5
If after 30 days following the giving of the notice mentioned in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 58-29-10 such insurer has failed to cease making, issuing, or circulating such false misrepresentations or causing the same to be made, issued or circulated in this State, and if the Commissioner has reason to believe that a proceeding by him in respect to such matters would be to the interest of the public, and that such insurer is issuing or delivering contracts of insurance to residents of this State or collecting premiums on such contracts or doing any of the acts enumerated in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 58-29-20, he shall take action against such insurer under the Unfair Trade Practice Act. (1965, c. 910.)
