Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 115C-270.25

  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. Initial applications for a continuing professional license from an individual with an out-of-state teacher’s license shall require the applicant to provide evidence of that teacher’s effectiveness, when available, as measured by the evaluation system used in that applicant’s state of current licensure at the time of application, including any growth measures included in that evaluation system. An individual who does not include evidence of that teacher’s effectiveness with the initial application shall only be eligible for an IPL or LL. (2017-189, s. 3(c); 2019-71, s. 2.2.)
