- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. The Law-Enforcement Officers’ Benefit and Retirement Fund, as contained in Article 12 of Chapter 143 of the N.C. Gen. Stat. and the laws of this State, is hereby transferred by a Type II transfer to the Department of State Treasurer. (1977, 2nd Sess., c. 1204, s. 1.)
