The State Land Fund may, in accordance with rules and regulations adopted by the Governor and approved by the Council of State, be used for the following purposes:

(1) To pay any expenses incurred in carrying out the duties and responsibilities created by the provisions of this Chapter.

  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • following: when used by way of reference to any section of a statute, shall be construed to mean the section next preceding or next following that in which such reference is made; unless when some other section is expressly designated in such reference. See North Carolina General Statutes 12-3
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. (2) For the acquisition of land, when appropriation is made for that purpose by the General Assembly.

(3) To pay any expenses incurred by the State Auditor in carrying out the duties and responsibilities created by N.C. Gen. Stat. § 143-341.2(b)(3). (1959, c. 683, s. 1; 2016-119, s. 1(d).)
