Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 159-102
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
For the purposes of this Article, the term “unit of local government” means a county or a municipal corporation. (2003-403, s. 2.)
