Authority: means the tobacco settlement authority created in this chapter. See Iowa Code 12E.2
Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.

This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the “Tobacco Settlement Authority Act”.
