Terms Used In Iowa Code 88.17
- Litigation: A case, controversy, or lawsuit. Participants (plaintiffs and defendants) in lawsuits are called litigants.
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
The attorney general of the state shall upon request by the commissioner represent the commissioner in any civil litigation brought under this chapter.
