1. The district court may order temporary admission of persons under its jurisdiction to the county care facility until other arrangements are made for care of such persons.
Terms Used In Iowa Code 347B.9
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Magistrate: means a judicial officer appointed under chapter 602, article 6, part 4. See Iowa Code 4.1
2. A judge, magistrate, or judicial hospitalization referee shall make all placements to a county care facility pursuant to section 135C.23.
