Terms Used In Iowa Code 470.6
- Addition: means new construction equal to or greater than twenty thousand square feet of usable floor space that is heated or cooled by a mechanical or electrical system and is joined to an existing facility. See Iowa Code 470.1
- Facility: means a building having twenty thousand square feet or more of usable floor space that is heated or cooled by a mechanical or electrical system. See Iowa Code 470.1
- Renovation: means a project where alterations, that are not additions, to an existing facility exceed fifty percent of the value of a facility and will affect an energy system. See Iowa Code 470.1
Public funds shall not be used for the construction or renovation of a facility or the construction of an addition unless the design for the work is prepared in accordance with this chapter and the actual construction or renovation of the facility or the construction of the addition meets the requirements of the design.
