- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
510A.3 Applicability.
This chapter applies to licensed insurers as defined in § 510A.2, either domiciled in this state or domiciled in a state that is not an accredited state and having a substantially similar law. All provisions of the insurance holding company Act, to the extent those provisions are not superseded by this chapter, continue to apply to all persons associated with holding companies subject to this chapter.
