- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.

518.6 Powers of the members.
Members of the association shall have the power to make or amend articles of incorporation
at any membership meeting, provided that notice of such addition or amendment has been mailed to each member at least ten days in advance of the meeting in which such proposed action is to be considered, and provided that no amendment shall become effective until approved by the commissioner of insurance and recorded in the office of the secretary of state.
