Terms Used In Iowa Code 597.11

  • Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
  • person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
  • property: includes personal and real property. See Iowa Code 4.1
597.11 Contracts and sales binding.
All contracts, sales, or encumbrances made by either husband or wife under the provisions of § 597.10 shall be binding on both, and during such absence or confinement the person acting under such power may sue and be sued thereon, and for all acts done the property of both shall be liable, and execution may be levied or attachment issued accordingly.
