Terms Used In Iowa Code 820.11

  • Extradition: The formal process of delivering an accused or convicted person from authorities in one state to authorities in another state.
  • person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
820.11 Penalty for willful disobedience.
Any officer who shall deliver to the agent for extradition of the demanding state a person in the officer’s custody under the governor’s warrant, in willful disobedience to § 820.10, shall be guilty of a simple misdemeanor.
