Beginning January 1, 2025, community addiction services providers and community mental health services providers shall not refer clients to a recovery housing residence unless the residence is on the registry established and maintained under section 5119.394 of the Revised Code on the date that the referral is made. Community addiction services providers and community mental health services providers shall maintain records of all referrals made to recovery housing residences.

Terms Used In Ohio Code 5119.396

  • Addiction: means the chronic and habitual use of alcoholic beverages, the use of a drug of abuse as defined in section 3719. See Ohio Code 5119.01
  • Addiction services: means services, including intervention, for the treatment of persons with alcohol, drug, or gambling addictions, and for the prevention of such addictions. See Ohio Code 5119.01
  • Mental health services: means services for the assessment, care, or treatment of persons who have a mental illness and for the prevention of mental illness. See Ohio Code 5119.01
  • Recovery housing residence: means a residence for individuals recovering from alcohol use disorder or drug addiction that provides an alcohol-free and drug-free living environment, peer support, assistance with obtaining alcohol and drug addiction services, and other recovery assistance for alcohol use disorder and drug addiction. See Ohio Code 5119.01
  • residence: means that county in which the person maintained the person's primary place of residence at the time the person entered the facility;

    (ii) If a person is committed pursuant to section 2945. See Ohio Code 5119.01
