Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 2A:26-6

  • Executor: A male person named in a will to carry out the decedent
  • Legacy: A gift of property made by will.
  • Legatee: A beneficiary of a decedent
  • Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
A legacy or distributive share of an estate in the hands of an executor, administrator or trustee may be attached in an action against the legatee or next of kin.
