Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 2A:123-11

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
Any person who willfully violates this act shall forfeit and pay a penalty of not less than two hundred dollars ($200.00) and not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for the first offense, nor less than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for the second or any subsequent offense, to be sued for and recovered by and in the name of the department in a summary proceeding in accordance with the penalty enforcement law. (N.J.S. 2A:58-1 et seq.) Each article of wearing apparel or fabric made, sold or exposed for sale shall constitute a separate violation.
