Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 2A:160-2
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 2A:160-2. Whenever any person charged in this State with any crime shall flee from justice and be found in another state, territory or district, and the attorney general or the prosecutor for any county where such person is so charged shall recommend to the governor or person administering the government of this State that he demand the fugitive, so that he may be brought into this State for trial, and the fugitive shall, on the demand of the executive authority of this State, be delivered up for removal to this State, the expense of such removal, being first ascertained to the satisfaction of the prosecutor of the county where such person is so charged, and being approved by a judge of the Superior Court, shall be paid by the county treasurer out of the funds of such county.
