- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 10. a. The consumer lender or sales finance company license shall state the name of the licensee and the licensee’s place of business or businesses, as applicable, and shall contain any other information as the commissioner may see fit to require. No licensee shall transact business regulated by the “New Jersey Consumer Finance Licensing Act,” sections 1 through 49 of P.L.1996, c.157 (C. 17:11C-1 et seq.) or the “Retail Installment Sales Act of 1960,” P.L.1960, c.40 (C. 17:16C-1 et seq.) under any name other than that named in the license.
b. The license shall be posted conspicuously in the place or places of business of the licensee.
c. A licensee or any other person shall not photocopy or otherwise reproduce the license except for legitimate business purposes.
d. Licenses issued pursuant to this act or, previously, the “Retail Installment Sales Act of 1960,” P.L.1960, c.40 (C. 17:16C-1 et seq.), shall not be transferable or assignable, other than as provided by section 12 of this act.
e. No licensee shall change the name or address of the licensee’s place or places of business without notice to the commissioner.
