Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 26:1A-34
- Bequest: Property gifted by will.
- Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
- State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
Subject to approval by the Governor and the Public Health Council, the commissioner may accept and administer for the State any grant, gift or bequest to be applied, principal or income, or both, for the purpose specified in such grant, gift or bequest, to the maintenance and use of any service in, or activity of, the department.
