Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 40:75-25
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. “Commissioner” means any person, including the mayor, occupying the office of commissioner in a municipality having the commission form of government hereunder.
“Recall petition” means the petition to be filed with the municipal clerk, as provided in this article, for the recall of a commissioner.
“Incumbent” means the commissioner sought to be removed by the recall petition.
“Nominee” means the person nominated by the petition of nomination.
“Petition of nomination” means the petition of nomination provided for in this article to place the name of a successor to the incumbent upon the ballot.
“Incumbent’s petition” means the petition provided for in this article to place the question of the recall of the incumbent upon the ballot.
