Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 43:21-31
- Benefits: means the money payments payable to an individual, as provided in this chapter (R. See New Jersey Statutes 43:21-19

- Employer: means :
(1) Any employing unit which in either the current or the preceding calendar year paid remuneration for employment in the amount of $1,000. See New Jersey Statutes 43:21-19 - Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. Any person who adheres to the faith or teachings of any church, sect, or denomination, and who in accordance with its creed, tenets, or principles depends for healing upon prayer or spiritual means, in the practice of religion, shall be exempt from this act upon filing with the commission and with his employer a statement, in such form as the commission shall by regulation prescribe, waiving any and all benefits under this act. Such person shall thereupon be exempt from the provisions of this act, including any obligation to make contributions hereunder and any right to receive benefits hereunder.
