- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.

- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 9. Except as provided in section 8 of P.L.1983, c.7 (C. 45:2C-8), each person desiring to obtain a license to practice acupuncture shall make application therefor to the board upon such form and in such manner as the board shall prescribe and shall furnish satisfactory evidence to the board that he:
a. Is at least 21 years of age;
b. Is of good moral character; and
c. (1) Has a baccalaureate degree and has successfully completed a board approved course of study or a board approved program of a school of acupuncture.

The application shall be accompanied by the fee prescribed by the board.
The board shall evaluate each applicant applying for a license to practice acupuncture and make the final determination regarding each applicant’s admission to the examination and the issuance or denial of a license.
