- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 24. Nothing in this act shall authorize: the diagnosis of disease or the practice of medicine and surgery by any person not licensed to do so pursuant to chapter 9 of Title 45 of the Revised Statutes; the practice of psychology by a person not licensed to do so pursuant to the “Practicing Psychology Licensing Act,” P.L.1966, c.282 (C. 45:14B-1 et seq.); the practice of chiropractic by a person not licensed to do so pursuant to the “Chiropractic Board Act,” P.L.1989, c.153 (C. 45:9-41.17 et al.); the practice of nursing by a person not licensed to do so pursuant to the provisions of P.L.1947, c.262 (C. 45:11-23 et seq.); or the practice of physical therapy by a person not licensed to do so pursuant to the “Physical Therapist Licensing Act of 1983,” P.L.1983, c.296 (C. 45:9-37.11 et seq.) except the practice of occupational therapy as defined in section 3 of this act.
