Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 45:15B-14

  • Court reporter: A person who makes a word-for-word record of what is said in court and produces a transcript of the proceedings upon request.
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State.   • Reporter: Makes a record of court proceedings and prepares a transcript, and also publishes the court's opinions or decisions (in the courts of appeals).
13. Any person who is a certified shorthand reporter pursuant to section 3 of P.L.1940, c.175 (C. 45:15B-3) on the effective date of this amendatory and supplementary act shall be a certified court reporter under and subject to the provisions of P.L.1940, c.175 (C. 45:15B-1 et seq.) and this amendatory and supplementary act.
