- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. No license shall be issued to any person described in subparagraph “a” of section 45:24-9 of this title for hawking, peddling, and vending emblems, flags, natural or artificial flowers, magazines, pamphlets, postcards or any printed matter, or any article emblematic or symbolic of, or referring to the army, navy, marine corps, or any veterans’ association, unless such licensee shall have been a bona fide resident of the county wherein he resides for three months immediately preceding the issuance of such license; and any such license shall be effective only in the county wherein such licensee resides.
