Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 46:30B-97.2

  • Administrator: means the Treasurer of the State of New Jersey, any individual serving as the Acting Treasurer in the absence of the appointed Treasurer, and any State employee to whom the Treasurer has delegated authority to administer the provisions of this chapter and to execute any pertinent documents.   • Apparent owner: means the person whose name appears on the records of the holder as the person entitled to property held, issued, or owing by the holder. See New Jersey Statutes 46:30B-6
  • Property: means tangible property described in R. See New Jersey Statutes 46:30B-6
  • State: means any state in the United States, district, commonwealth, territory, insular possession, or any other area subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. See New Jersey Statutes 46:30B-6
46:30B-97.2. Enforcement. Right of administrator to intervene in judicial or administrative proceedings.

The administrator shall have a right to intervene and participate in any judicial or administrative proceeding when it is in the best interests of: the State of New Jersey, the apparent owner, or the unclaimed property for the purpose of conserving and safeguarding the unclaimed property against dissipation, undue diminishment, or adverse discriminatory treatment.
