Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 52:13A-3

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. Every person summoned to attend the Senate as a witness shall receive, from the party in whose behalf he is summoned, one dollar ($1.00) for each day’s attendance and mileage at the rate of six cents ($0.06) for each mile required to be traveled in going from and returning to his residence by the most usual route of travel between Trenton and the place of residence.

No witness shall be required to attend upon the Senate until one day’s fee and mileage for one way is paid or tendered.
