- Child: means an individual less than 18 years old. See Michigan Laws 722.1052
- Child care facility: means a child care center, child care organization, or child caring institution as defined in section 1 of 1973 PA 116, MCL 722. See Michigan Laws 722.1052
- Commercial user: means a person who deals in children's products or who holds himself or herself out as having knowledge or skill relating to children's products, or a person who is in the business of remanufacturing, retrofitting, selling, leasing, subletting, or otherwise placing in the stream of commerce children's products. See Michigan Laws 722.1052
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- CPSC: means the consumer product safety commission created by the consumer product safety act, Public Law 92-573, 86 Stat. See Michigan Laws 722.1052
- Crib: means a bed or containment designed to accommodate an infant. See Michigan Laws 722.1052
- Department: means the department of consumer and industry services. See Michigan Laws 722.1052
- Full-size crib: means a full-size crib as defined in section 1508. See Michigan Laws 722.1052
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
- Non-full-size crib: means a non-full-size crib as defined in section 1509. See Michigan Laws 722.1052
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- Person: means an individual, partnership, corporation, association, governmental entity, or other legal entity. See Michigan Laws 722.1052
- Public law: A public bill or joint resolution that has passed both chambers and been enacted into law. Public laws have general applicability nationwide.
