Terms Used In Michigan Laws 35.231
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. (1) The Michigan State Capitol Commission shall provide, within the State Capitol Building, recognition for the contributions of veterans to this state.
(2) The Michigan State Capitol Commission shall display within the State Capitol Building 1 or more suitable plaques commemorating the Grand Army of the Republic and services of Michigan residents in the Armed Forces of the United States of America and the Michigan National Guard.
(3) As used in this section:
(a) “Michigan State Capitol Commission” means the Michigan State Capitol Commission established in section 5 of the Michigan state capitol historic site act, 2013 PA 240, MCL 4.1945.
(b) “Veteran” means that term as defined in section 1 of 1965 PA 190, MCL 35.61.
