Terms Used In Michigan Laws 35.1202

  • in writing: shall be construed to include printing, engraving, and lithographing; except that if the written signature of a person is required by law, the signature shall be the proper handwriting of the person or, if the person is unable to write, the person's proper mark, which may be, unless otherwise expressly prohibited by law, a clear and classifiable fingerprint of the person made with ink or another substance. See Michigan Laws 8.3q
  • Private employer: means a sole proprietor, corporation, partnership, limited liability company, or other private entity with 1 or more employees. See Michigan Laws 35.1201
    (1) A private employer may adopt and apply a voluntary veterans’ preference employment policy.
    (2) A veterans’ preference employment policy shall be in writing and shall be applied uniformly to employment decisions regarding the hiring or promotion of veterans or the retention of veterans during a reduction in the workforce.
