(1) An election for or recall of board members and an election for a districtwide tax shall be conducted under the provisions of the Michigan election law, 1954 PA 116, MCL 168.1 to 168.992, and applicable provisions of the revised school code, 1976 PA 451, MCL 380.1 to 380.1852, except to the extent that those provisions are inconsistent with the provisions of this act.
(2) If none of the participating municipalities are school districts, an election for a districtwide tax is governed by section 15 to 18 and section 23. If 1 or more of the participating municipalities are school districts, an election for a districtwide tax is governed by section 15 and section 19 to 23.
Terms Used In Michigan Laws 397.184
- Board: means a district library board. See Michigan Laws 397.172
- District: means the territory of the participating municipalities that is served by a district library established under this act. See Michigan Laws 397.172
- Participating: means , in reference to a municipality, that the municipality is a party to an agreement. See Michigan Laws 397.172
(3) If none of the participating municipalities are school districts, an election for district library board members is governed by section 16 to 18 and section 23. If 1 or more of the participating municipalities are school districts, an election for district library board members is governed by section 19 to 23.
