- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
That no amendment, modification, or repeal of this act shall affect anything duly done, right acquired, liability incurred or penalty, forfeiture or other punishment incurred or to be incurred, in respect of any offense against the provisions of this act before such amendment, modification, or repeal comes into operation.
