(1) The provisions of sections 1, 2, 3, 4(1), (2), (3), (4), (6), 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 of Act No. 274 of the Public Acts of 1984, as amended, being section 445.771 to 445.788 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, shall apply to all activities authorized by this act.
(2) The provisions of this act shall apply to an activity of a health benefit corporation notwithstanding the provisions of section 4(5) of Act No. 274 of the Public Acts of 1984, as amended, being section 445.774 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, except where the activity is specifically required by this act or any regulation or orders promulgated by the commissioner pursuant to this act.
Terms Used In Michigan Laws 550.1004a
- Commissioner: means the commissioner of insurance. See Michigan Laws 550.1002
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Health benefit: means any benefit or service lawfully provided by a health benefit corporation. See Michigan Laws 550.1002
