- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. A sign of appropriate dimensions shall be prominently displayed at the site of each state project costing in excess of $500,000.00, or on sites where such a sign is required by other governmental units. The sign shall state the project title, the total project cost, the amount authorized to be appropriated by “the people of the state of Michigan”, and the amount of federal or other grants, if any.
