Terms Used In Michigan Laws 32.1137

  • Military: includes each armed force of the United States and each component of the state military establishment. See Michigan Laws 32.1002
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, as well as to individuals. See Michigan Laws 8.3l
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
  • State military forces: means the national guard of the state, as defined in 32 USC 101(3), and any other military force organized under the laws of the state. See Michigan Laws 32.1002
     Sections 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 28, 30, 31, 37, 38, 55, 58, 77 to 134, 137 to 139, and 145 shall be carefully explained to each enlisted person at the time of enlistment or induction into or when ordered to duty in or with the state military forces or not later than 6 days after enlistment or induction. The sections shall be explained again after the enlisted person has completed 6 months’ service and again at the time the enlisted person reenlists. A complete text of this code and rules prescribed by the adjutant general under this code shall be made available to a member of the state military forces, upon request, for personal examination.
