Michigan Laws 125.533 – Compliance by owner and occupant

(1) The owner of premises regulated by this act shall comply with all applicable provisions of the act.

(2) The occupant of premises regulated by this act shall comply with provisions of the act specifically applicable to him.

shall: is a lways mandatory and not directory, and denotes that the dwelling shall be maintained in all respects according to the mandate as long as it continues to be a dwelling. See Michigan Laws 125.402
