Terms Used In Michigan Laws 322.325

  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
     The commissioner of the land office may, from time to time lease, for terms not exceeding 1 year, and until the same are disposed of according to law, all such university and school lands, and other lands belonging to the state, as shall have improvements on them; and such leases shall contain proper covenants to guard against trespasses and waste.
