The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
In addition to the funds appropriated in section 236, there is appropriated for grants and financial aid in fiscal year 2023-2024 an amount not to exceed $6,000,000.00 for federal contingency authorization. These funds are not available for expenditure until they have been transferred under section 393(2) of the management and budget act, 1984 PA 431, MCL 18.1393, for another purpose under this article.
