Terms Used In Michigan Laws 600.2625
- Bail: Security given for the release of a criminal defendant or witness from legal custody (usually in the form of money) to secure his/her appearance on the day and time appointed.

Whenever any officer is authorized to take any sureties or bail, he is authorized to administer an oath to every person who is offered as such bail or surety, to ascertain his sufficiency.
