Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes > Chapter 154 - Presidential Preference Primary
- At large: means selected on a basis other than from a district. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-463
- Candidate: means any person whose name is placed, or proposed to be placed, as the case may be, on the primary ballot of a party. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-463
- Chairman: means the chairman of the state central committee of a party. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-463
- Delegate: means a person selected by a party to vote at its national convention held for the purpose of nominating such party's candidate for President. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-463
- District: means a congressional district or other political subdivision of the state. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-463
- Party: means a political party having the largest or second largest number of enrolled members in this state according to the most recent enrollment records on file in the office of the secretary. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-463
- President: means the office of President of the United States. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-463
- Primary: means a presidential preference primary in which any enrolled member of a party is eligible to vote for a candidate for such party's nomination for President. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-463
- Registrars: means the registrars of voters of the municipality. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-1
- Secretary: means the Secretary of the State. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-463
- succeeding: when used by way of reference to any section or sections, mean the section or sections next preceding, next following or next succeeding, unless some other section is expressly designated in such reference. See Connecticut General Statutes 1-1
- Voters: means those persons qualified to vote under the provisions of section 7-6. See Connecticut General Statutes 1-1
- Voting tabulator: means a machine, including, but not limited to, a device which operates by electronic means, for the registering and recording of votes cast at elections, primaries and referenda. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-1
